Garnet Ring
The shape and color of garnet crystal is similar to pomegranate seed, so the name "garnet". Garnet has been used as an amulet since ancient Egyptian times. It was chosen as the birthstone of January because it is the most senior gem, which symbolizes loyalty, friendship and chastity. The January birthstone is the gem for the second and 18th wedding anniversary, the state mineral of Connecticut, and the gem representing New York.
